About us
Welcome to The United Church of Canada (UCCan) Migrant Hub website!!
Since 2023, The United Church of Canada has started at least 25 new emerging migrant-diasporic- racialized communities of faith (CoFs).
While we invite all new migrants into any of our diverse local communities of faith with no prejudice and intentionally seeking to honour each migrant’s ethnocultural heritage and traditions, we are also aware that new migrants need services to help them settle in their new country.
This website seeks to provide information that will assist new migrants who: (1) have already arrived in Canada and (2) are on their way to Canada.
This includes communicating in their first language such as Shona, Swahili, Tagalog, Chinese, Spanish, Malagasy, Akan (Ghana) and Korean.
Please check out five (5) categories of “information needs” in each of these languages:
- Material support and assistance
- Community building and social networks
- Religious practices and worship
- Integration and cultural adaptation
- Legal and immigration information
As an extension of the Growth activities of The United Church of Canada, we hope to bring an expression of God’s daring justice in Christ Jesus to each (im)migrant that this website serves!!!
